Aurelia Javier is a fine artist and arts educator originally born in Miami, Florida. In 2010 Javier earned a prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship, and used it to become the first such scholar to attend Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting with Cum Laude Honors, and her Master of Arts in Teaching from MICA. Javier was employed by Montgomery County Public Schools upon graduating in 2017, teaching bilingual (English and Spanish) Studio and Digital Art & Photography courses to middle school students.

She is the recipient of distinct honors and academic rewards, including the Maryland Teachers of Promise Award in 2017. Personal and cultural identity, familial relationships, and genetic inheritance are some of the concepts that she explores in her artwork. Javier has exhibited her work in Maryland and Miami, Florida. Currently in her pedagogical and artistic practices, she investigates her conceptual ideas in art and researches educational theories while finding relationships to her work with children.
